Upon graduating from college, Dr. Orr embarked on a remarkable career path, commissioning into the United States Navy Nurse Corps. Over 13 years of active duty and reserve service, he rose to the rank of Navy Lieutenant Commander, accumulating a wealth of experience and expertise in service to his country. His military tenure laid the groundwork for his unwavering commitment to healthcare and community service.

 

Driven by a passion for leadership in healthcare systems, Dr. Orr pursued and earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of San Francisco, specializing in healthcare systems leadership. His dedication to excellence was further underscored by his certification as a board-certified nurse executive, a testament to his proficiency recognized by the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC).

 

Service has always been at the heart of Dr. Orr's endeavors. As a civilian, he volunteered with the International Medical Corps (IMC), offering his expertise and assistance during critical humanitarian crises such as Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami Relief efforts in Banda Ache, Indonesia. His deployment as a senior nursing support officer to NATO Role 3 Combat Hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan, and his medical support role at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center during 2008-2009 exemplify his unwavering commitment to providing care in the most challenging of environments.

 

Azimuth Medical stands as a testament to Dr. Orr's dedication to service and his vision for excellence in healthcare. Founded initially as a clinical research consulting firm, the company pivoted during the pandemic of 2020 to meet the pressing need for expanded COVID-19 testing services in Lake County. Responding swiftly to the evolving needs of the community, Azimuth Medical collaborated with local laboratories and community stakeholders to provide vital resources to local businesses, schools, and care centers.

 

In addition to its pivotal role in public health, Azimuth Medical also serves as an agency provider through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, extending its commitment to community care and support. Recent collaborative efforts with Dr. Scott Krupkin, MD, and Christopher Orr, DMSc, PA-C, have further augmented Azimuth Medical's capabilities, allowing the company to offer a comprehensive range of medical services to its clientele.
